Announcing TCC Fall 2015 Professional Development Opportunities


The Brighton Teaching & Creativity Center is thrilled to share this semester’s programming focused on the TCC’s 2015-16 theme: Helping Students Learn How to Learn.

How can we help our students learn how they learn? By understanding the research of how learning works, we can facilitate discovery and development of strategies that will enable students to be more effective learners. This year’s themed events will take theory to practice, providing classroom techniques to help student build skills for greater academic success.  Join your colleagues in these important discussions on the following dates:

HELPING STUDENTS RECOGNIZE BELIEFS THAT INFLUENCE THEIR FAILURE…OR SUCCESS
Wednesday, September 16th from 12:00-12:50 pm

HELPING STUDENTS LEARN HOW TO LEARN FROM TESTING
Thursday, October 8th from 2:00-3:20 pm

TEACHING & CREATIVITY CENTER’S FALL FORUM at DCC
This is a half-day program that will explore our theme through a variety of workshops.
Friday, October 16th.

HELPING STUDENTS LEARN HOW TO PREPARE FOR WRITING AND RESEARCH
Wednesday, November 4th from 3:00-4:20 pm

And be sure to attend one or both of the Academic Services Ice Cream Socials.
DCC Learning Commons, Wednesday, September 16th from 12:30-2:00 pm and
LeRoy V. Good Library (Brighton), Friday, September 18th from 12:30-2:00 pm

All full-time and adjunct faculty are welcome.
