Flor Colon Joins MCC Foundation Board


The Monroe Community College Foundation welcomes Flor M. Colόn, associate general counsel, Xerox Corporation, to its board of directors. Foundation directors champion MCC’s role in the community and help raise private philanthropic support for MCC student scholarships, faculty enrichment programs and overall educational innovation. Colόn will serve a three-year term.

Colόn manages the legal departments within Xerox’s Developing Markets Operations, covering more than 150 countries. She served as chair of the Xerox Office of General Counsel's Diversity Committee from its creation in 2008 through 2011, promoting and increasing diversity in Xerox’s external legal representation.

Colόn holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Pace University and a juris doctorate from Brooklyn Law School. She also serves locally on the boards of the Young Women's College Prep Charter School of Rochester and the Volunteer Legal Services Project.

The Monroe Community College Foundation is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit corporation that seeks and secures private funds to supplement Monroe Community College’s traditional revenue sources. Through its ongoing efforts, it provides scholarship assistance, faculty enrichment programs, funding for educational equipment and seed money for innovative programs.
