PAC Center's first week a success

Monday, Nov. 3 marked a new era for health education, athletics, and fitness activities at Monroe Community College as the PAC Center opened for use by the college community.

The PAC will be used for team sports, health and physical education classes, intramural leagues, community wellness programs, and individual fitness use.

The first week of the PAC has garnered rave reviews. The center features a sparkling new fitness center, encompassing 3,500 square feet with ample equipment for cardiovascular and strength training.

Another exciting feature of the PAC is the two-lane indoor track that circles the 136 x 220-foot turf field. Other highlights include training facilities with hot and cold hydro pools, MCC team locker rooms and coaches' offices.

All are welcome to work out in the fitness center between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and use the track between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.

The facility was made possible by a grant from New York state as well as the private philanthropy of over 1,100 gracious donors, led by the Chesonis Family Foundation.  The PAC Center enhances the total college experience, furthering MCC's position as a leader in higher education.

Monroe Community College is proud to offer the PAC as yet another valuable resource available to the college community. PAC Center Manager Nelson Cupello is happy to answer any questions regarding the facility. Feel free to call the PAC Center Operations office at 292-2868 or drop by the office, located at 10-176 directly across from the turf field.
