Passing of Former Instructor Mary Pat Dennis-Andre


The college community mourns the passing of Mary Pat Dennis-Andre on Oct. 20 at the age of 57.

An MCC alumna, Mary Pat taught at MCC for nine years. She joined the faculty in 1982 as an adjunct instructor and later became an instructor in the Department of Developmental Education / Department of Transitional Studies. During her years at MCC, she also served as co-adviser for the Native American Club and taught police recruits at the Criminal Justice Training Center. She left MCC in 1991 and was employed at Edmonds Community College in Washington.

Mary Pat, a native Rochesterian, attended Nazareth Academy and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from The College at Brockport.

Mary Pat was predeceased by her parents, Gerald and Delores Dennis, and sister Deborah. She is survived by her loving husband, Joe Andre; brother Jerry; sisters Sharron, Jeanie, Susan, Kathleen and Maureen; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park in Rochester, followed by a “Celebration of Life” at 2204 White Swan Drive in Greece.
