Financial Aid for Intersession Course(s)

Is there financial aid for intersession course(s)?

Possibly, federal aid.

Intersession, is a session where students earn up to three credit class in just three weeks. It is now tied to the spring semester for federal financial aid.

If a student enrolls part time in spring by the freeze date, and has an intersession course, the financial aid office will add that intersession course to their spring enrollment.  If it results in a change in status for increased Pell or for loan eligibility, it will disburse after spring aid begins disbursing in late February 2016.

For New York State financial aid, intersession does not count and there is no TAP or APTS for an intersession course.  A student cannot add intersession courses to spring to become full time for TAP or to add toward enrollment for any other HESC program.

Since students register for a three- credits class, they are not eligible for loans.
