The Global Education & International Services will be hosting an International Women’s Day Conference organized by the Peace Islands Institute and the Turkish Cultural Center of Rochester. The theme is “The Role of Women in Building Peace” featuring three panels – Women’s Role in Promoting Peace, Empowering Women in the Workforce, and Interfaith Perspectives on Forgiveness and Love of Neighbor.
Panelists are being selected from a variety of cultures and industries to ensure a rich and meaningful discussion that will showcase the immense power of women in positively influencing society. It’s on Saturday, March 19th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center (Monroe B) and an authentic Turkish dinner is included (suggested donation is $20).
This is an excellent local to global learning opportunity for faculty and students. We encourage you to attend and hope that you will encourage your students to attend as well!
