AmeriCorps Members Begin Term on National Day of Service and Remembrance

Today is the first day of service for a new group of 41 AmeriCorps members enrolled in Rochester AmeriCorps, based at the Damon City Campus. In recognition of President Obama’s designation of September 11 as a National Day of Service and Remembrance, this year’s corps is starting its term with a group service project at FOODLINK. Members will be in training for the next two weeks and will begin their community-based placements on September 28. Each member will receive a living allowance and an education award in exchange for at least 1,700 hours of service to the community.
