Students Raise $1,300 for Left to Tell Charitable Foundation

The April 9 issue of the Brighton-Pittsford Post featured a photo of MCC students in the “Left to Tell” display within the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center. The event raised awareness and money for the Left to Tell Charitable Fund (https://www.lefttotell.org) founded by Rwanda Genocide Survivor and author Immaculee Ilibagiza. Her foundation helps children in Africa lead better lives. Built to promote MCC’s second annual Rwanda Remembrance program, the display is based on the bathroom where Immaculee hid with seven other women during the Rwanda Genocide.

Immaculee will speak at the Rwanda Remembrance program at noon and 7 pm on Monday, April 21. The event is hosted by the Holocaust Genocide Studies Project. Tickets are free for MCC students, faculty and staff and are available at the Brighton Campus Service Desk, Damon Campus Center Bookstore and
