MetLife Letters to Staff and Retirees

During January, some MCC staff members and retirees have received a confusing letter from MetLife.  The SUNY System Administration has confirmed that the recently discovered MetLife mailings regarding SUNY Plan documents and information was sent in error to some plan participants employed at Community Colleges.  Although the letter indicates that you must act, no action is to be taken.  Any e-mails received should also be disregarded.

MetLife was removed as an approved investment provider by SUNY for new enrollments, ongoing contributions and transfers into the contracts. Legacy account holders may remain in the SUNY MetLife (Brighthouse) Voluntary 403(b) Savings Plan and Optional Retirement Program (ORP).

The current providers approved for SUNY Retirement plan business continue to be TIAA, AIG, Fidelity and Voya. https://www.suny.edu/retirement/orp-vendors/
