Reminder: Friday Lecture in Library

This Friday, March 10, the LeRoy V. Good Library will be hosting the lecture “Understanding the Creation Story of the Iroquois.” The speaker, Kevin White, a member of the Akwesasne Mohawk nation and an MCC alumnus, is a professor of Native American Studies at SUNY Oswego. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Buffalo’s American Studies Department and the Center for the Americas. His dissertation focuses on Native American narrative, especially as it pertains to the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) creation story.

Mr. White’s lecture will address the academic-related issues of the cosmology of the Iroquois. He will discuss the Haudenosaunee concept of creation, as well as the different existing versions of the creation story.

The lecture will be held during College Hour, 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, on the 4th floor of the Library, outside room 2-440. Please join us!
