News from the October MCC Board of Trustees Meeting
The MCC Board of Trustees met on Monday, October 3, 2022 and took the following actions:
- Adopted the consent agenda effective October 3, 2022
- Accepted operating disbursements totaling $8,844,051.95 for the month of July 2021, subject to final audit.
- Accepted the Interim Financial Report as of July 31, 2022.
- Authorized Purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the month of July 2022.
- Accepted an amendment to the Spring 2023 Academic Calendar to align MCC’s spring break to coincide with the Monroe County public schools.
The Board heard presentations from:
- Amanda McGinnis, provided a Student Testimonial
- Kristin Lowe, Executive Director, Human Resources and Organizational Development on Sexual Harassment Response and Prevention Training.
- Christy Woods, Professor, Mathematics; President of the Faculty Council of Community
- Colleges and SUNY Trustee, providing a SUNY Update
- Susan Hall, Assistant Director, Curriculum and Program Development, Dr. DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna, President regarding the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)
- Dr. DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna, provided the President’s Update, including the launch of Vision2027, Monroe Community College Strategic Plan 2022-2027. Dr. Burt-Nanna also provided an update on the Finger Lakes Workforce Development Center on behalf of Dr. Cole.
- Dr. Calvin Gantt, Vice President, on Diversity, Equity and Belonging division activities; Greg Hinton, CFO/Vice President, on Administrative Services activities; Dr. Kimberly McKinsey-Mabry, Acting Vice President, Student Services and Acting Provost/Vice President, on Academic Services activities; Gretchen Wood, Vice President, Institutional Advancement and Executive Director, MCC Foundation on Institutional Advancement activities (Please refer to the Divisional Highlights attachment for more details)
- Gretchen Wood, Vice President, Institutional Advancement and Executive Director, MCC Foundation, on behalf of MCC Foundation Board of Directors Chair Lori Van Dusen regarding Foundation activities, including raising $9 million last year, the second highest in Foundation history and shared details on the upcoming salute to excellence.
- My Linh "Mia" Le, Student Trustee, included in her update, her participation in the Association of Community Colleges Trustees (ACCT) Governance Leadership conference in Washington, DC.
- Shared Governance representatives including Student Government Association President Paula Barlow, Faculty Senate President Nadya Pares-Kane and Dr. Burt-Nanna representing Administration. Support Staff Planning Council Leaders did not submit an update.
- Faculty Association and CSEA leaders did not provide an update.
