Making the Most of our 50th Anniversary

Here are two more ways you can be involved in MCC’s 50th anniversary celebration.

Plan an Event

In order to encourage a broad-based and financially responsible celebration, the College encourages departments, programs, clubs, organizations and individual employees to plan anniversary initiatives; we are particularly interested in proposals for turning existing events—think Homecoming, Scholars Day, etc.—into anniversary-themed events during the celebration year (Fall 2011-Fall 2012).  Stay tuned for news on the selected theme, but it’s never too early to begin thinking about the possibilities!

To incentivize this kind of planning, we will have the opportunity to apply for internal grants.

Serve on the 50th Anniversary Grants Committee

A 50th Anniversary Grants Committee, with representatives from across the college, will be established to review and select proposals for funding, use of the 50th anniversary logo and tagline, and designation as an official 50th anniversary initiative. The committee’s work will begin this spring and continue through the fall. A rolling application process is envisioned.

If you are interested in serving on this committee, please send a note to "
