National Cyber Security Awareness Month

Did you know that October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM)?

This is the perfect time to for you to learn about cyber threats and what you can do to protect your devices and your data from these threats.  Throughout the month of October, Technology Services will be running a number of articles promoting specific cybersecurity tips.  You will see a number of posters around campus reminding you to be mindful of cybersecurity.

Monroe Community College has developed a free mini-course for faculty and staff in an online Blackboard format.  This course is intended for the average person that uses technology in their job or at home. It is a self-paced course and is intended to make you aware of cyber threats and help you to protect yourself and others from cybercriminals.

The attached instructions provide details for accessing this self-paced online course, titled “901600-MON-MCC-CNS-200 Intro to Cyber Security 2016 with Donna Pogroszewski.” This course provides important tips and information on how to protect digital assets from hackers and safeguard sensitive information.

Technology Services encourages everyone to complete this course.  If you have any questions on how to access this course, please contact the Technology Support Desk at 292-8324 (xTECH) option #3.
