An Internal Combustion Event: A Million Little Pictures Photomobile

A Million Little Pictures Photomobile will be outside the Mercer Gallery, Bldg. 12, in the garden from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7th.

A Million Little Pictures is a community-supported exhibition of snapshots captured around the world. Participants chose a theme and interpreted it via a single roll of film. The exhibitions weave the resulting photographs into an unbroken patchwork of images covering the Photomobile walls -- a traveling gallery-on-wheels.

The Photomobile will be temporarily constructed in five cities in the fall of 2011: Brooklyn, Toronto, Rochester, Atlanta, Denver and Los Angeles. The exhibition will be drawn from more than 10,000 snapshots by hundreds of photographers from 48 countries. By joining together a multitude of specific moments to create a single immersive environment. A Million Little Pictures imagines a communal story from the images of our lives.

Steve Peterman, co-founder of Artshouse Co-op, will give a presentation at noon on Friday in Room 12-228, Brighton Campus about the opportunities and struggles of community-funded art projects and the challenges of making it in the world as an art student.
