Experts in Monroe County are making grocery shopping a little more educational for residents.
The Agriculture and Life Sciences Institute at Monroe Community College has launched an interactive website about local agriculture.
Consumers can learn how local foods are grown. The website also helps residents find markets and stands where local foods are sold.
"It provides current issues that are important, not just to farmers but to consumers and the farm community recognizes that consumers want to know more about agriculture and how products are grown and how they come to market," said Bob King, Monroe Community College.
The group is working on a branding strategy so consumers can potentially buy groceries online.
