Thursday, April 6th:
8:00am -5:00pm: Brick Wall of Violence (Terrace/ Main Dining) - Take a moment to tell your story of how you or someone you know has been effected by violence.
8:00am-5:00pm: Violence through ART with AAD 260 (Campus Center Atrium) – Commercial Art II students created a poster series of illustrations to educate people about acts of violence. MEET THE ARTISTS on 4/6 from 11:00 am – 12:15 pm
8:00am-5:00pm: Shoes of the Victims/13 Stories of Domestic Violence (Terrace) – Take time to reflect as you interact with this display of shoes with corresponding stories of women who have been murdered on college campus around the county.
8:00am – 5:00pm: Offensive Clothing Display (Outside GYM Lobby) – See a display of real pieces of clothing that were sold in retail stores and on the interested. Are you offended? Tell us your opinion.
8:00am – 5:00pm: Mailboxes of Hope (Library)-RESTORE Sexual Assault Services invited students to write encouraging messages of hope to individuals affected by sexual violence. View these messages on display.
11:30am-1:30pm: CommUNITY Beats of PEACE Celebration (Main Dining) –
We are bringing people together around positive and upbeat music with The PULSE to foster a sense of peace and unity on campus. Join us for cake and take time to write out a Thank You card to someone at MCC. We will deliver it for you! Show some LOVE!
12:00pm -1:00pm: These Hands Don’t Hurt Pledge (Main Dining/ Atrium) – Come take the Pledge that you will not participate in violence.
12:00pm – 1:00pm – MCC Smiles (Gilman Lounge) – Take a SMILE and pass it on! Get yours before they’re all gone!
12:00pm – 1:00pm: Restore- Where Healing Begins (Atrium): Rochester based agency will be here to hand out information on domestic violence and how you can get help.
1:00pm-2:30pm: One Love Escalation Workshop (Forum)-Escalation is a powerful, emotionally engaging 90-minute film-based workshop that educates students about relationship violence. MCC students and staff members facilitate this workshop.
