<p><strong>Phil Lake</strong> is a professional performer and educator. He has a degree in Applied Percussion from Berklee College Of Music in Boston, MA. In addition to maintaining a private teaching practice for many years, Phil currently teaches drum set, percussion, and jazz ensemble at Finger Lakes Community College. Throughout his career he has performed extensively appearing with many regional as well as nationally recognized musicians including Randy Brecker, Eddie Daniels, Al Vizzutti, John Faddis, Al Chez, and the Bill Tiberio Band.</p>

<p><strong>Nancy Boone-Bahr</strong> received her Bachelor&rsquo;s and Master&rsquo;s degrees in Woodwinds from the Eastman School of Music where she received her Performer&rsquo;s Certificate in saxophone. In 1991 she became the winner of the North American Saxophone Alliance Classical Competition and in 1993, the Phi Mu Alpha soloist with the Eastman Wind Ensemble. Mrs. Boone-Bahr has also performed as a soloist with the Greater Rochester Music Educator&rsquo;s Wind Band and with the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra in Lithuania. Teaching credits include Eastman&rsquo;s Community Music School and the Hochstein Music School located in Rochester, NY in addition to Nazareth College and Roberts Wesleyan College where she has taught both saxophone and clarinet. Mrs. Boone-Bahr has performed frequently with the Rochester and Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestras, the Syracuse and Atlanta Symphonies, Gap Mangione&rsquo;s Big Band, and as a woodwind doubler for numerous theatre productions in Atlanta, as well as venues in Western New York and Florida. Touring credits include productions of Porgy and Bess, West Side Story and Steve Lippia in the US, Europe and Asia.</p>

<p><strong>Sean Joseph</strong> played in the Australian Army Band from1987-1994<br />
He was awarded a B.Mus in Jazz Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Sean performed with Princess Cruises and then went on to earn his<br />
Masters in Music Education from the Eastman School of Music, U. of R.<br />
Sean is currently a Music Teacher at Rush-Henrietta S.H.S since 2002.<br />
His duties include AP Music Theory, Theory I, Digital Music, Piano in Our Lives and directing the Jazz Ensemble.<br />
Sean is a first call trombonist with various bands and ensembles around Rochester and surrounding areas and has performed at the RIJF.</p>

<p><strong>Alex Verstraete</strong> is a trumpet player and composer who is currently teaching at Greece Arcadia High School. Alex has been commissioned by the Stony Brook University Orchestra to write and have my first symphony performed, along with a piece for the Cleveland Youth Orchestra representing a commemorative piece regarding the first man on the moon entitled &ldquo;Magnificent Desolation&rdquo;, a description that Buzz Aldrin described the moon as. He also plays with the Webster Community Band and the Teacher Eastman Wind Ensemble during the spring and fall months. I&rsquo;m grateful to be here tonight to thank John for what he taught me and for staying in touch with me for 22 years.</p>

He is a charter member of &ldquo;A Few Bad Apples&rdquo; who will be in the CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival on June 20 @ the Central Library (with John), The John Nyerges Band, The Curtis Kendrick Band (also with John @ Photo City Music Hall on June 16th) and many more as a freelance artist. His nickname is C-Note and his famous low C&rsquo;s on his bass are a favorite of John&rsquo;s.</p>

<p><strong>Professor John Nyerges</strong> earned his B. Mus in Education and a M. in Jazz Performance Studies at Eastman. He has taught for the RCSD and Hochstein and started at MCC in 1999. He teaches Jazz Improvisation, Studio production, MIDI, Performance class, Jazz History and the Music Business. He also taught jazz piano and small group at Eastman&rsquo;s Summer Jazz camp for more than 30 years.<br />
As a performer, John has 3 CD&rsquo;s out of original compositions as a leader on NBRJazz which received critical acclaim from JazzTimes (sic) and Cadence magazines as well as local reviews, is listed on All About Jazz.com, and performed on more than a dozen others, and has 3 more CDs coming out in 2022. John&rsquo;s Quartet performed at the Syracuse JazzFest, the Rochester International Jazz Fest (RIJF), and has been the jazz pianist for Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra concerts for 29 years, Jeff Tyzik conducting. He has also worked with the Syracuse, Utica, Erie, Northeastern Pennsylvania, Hartford and Stamford, Connecticut, and the Wilmington, DE orchestras. Guests performed with the RPO, several other orchestras, at jazz concerts or at Eastman, at Town Hall in NYC have included Joe Henderson, Maria Schneider, Steve Gadd, Benny Carter, The New York Voices, Arturo Sandoval, Peter Erskine, Gerry Niewood, &quot;Doc&quot; Severinson, Bob Brookmeyer, Joe Locke, Brian Scanlon, Chris Vadala, Terrell Stafford, Pat &amp; Joe Labarbera, Denzal Sinclaire, Shayna Steele, Byron Stripling, Rich Thompson, Jeff Campbell, Herb Smith, Dave Rivello, Victoria Corrigan, New Energy Jazz Orchestra, Vince Ercolamento and more. He also toured around the country with Cabo Frio for Zebra /MCA records.</p>
