Reminder: Current MCC's Smoke Free Policy Prohibits E-Cigarettes

In accordance with Monroe County health regulations, smoking is prohibited inside campus buildings at all MCC sites.  In addition, MCC has limited smoking areas on the exterior of the Brighton and Damon City campuses.  Please note that e-cigarettes are considered a smoking product under the current policy. Electronic cigarettes are not a safe alternative to traditional cigarettes.  The FDA has found several safety concerns and regulates e-cigarettes the same way it does regular cigarettes.

The new tobacco-free policy that is slated for implementation next fall will prohibit the use of all tobacco products in all college owned, leased or controlled buildings, property, vehicles and at all MCC-sponsored events.  The new policy will prohibit lighted cigarettes (traditional and e-cigarettes), cigars, pipes, bidis, clove cigarettes and any other smoking product, and smokeless or spit tobacco.

Your continued cooperation and support are much appreciated.
