MCC Students Who Made a Difference

On Make a Difference Day, Saturday October 26, 2002, The MCC Peer Assistant Network went to work cleaning the four corners of a city neighborhood in the Jay Street and Ames Street area. Twenty-five students and staff from the Brighton and Damon campuses raked, cleaned sidewalks, parking lots and yards and distributed goody bags of candy, coloring books, and crayons to neighborhood children. Appreciating the hard work, many of the neighbors joined the effort and one kind person treated everyone to a juice break. Holy Family Church graciously offered the use of the parking lot in support of this community service. Upon assessment of the day, the students determined that a small group of people can make a difference.
