News10 NBC and YNN Rochester covered the Guon Child Care Center’s 20th anniversary celebration on Wednesday, Sept. 21, and interviewed one of its older graduates, Abbey Tedrow. MCC graduates whose children attended the child care center within the past two decades joined former child care center staff and current children in the outdoor celebration.
Abbey, now 21, came to the child care center when she was 2 until the age of 5 while her dad studied optics at MCC. Thirteen years later, Abbey returned to MCC – this time as a student pursuing a degree in childhood education. Today, the MCC alumna plans to graduate with her bachelor’s degree next year from The College at Brockport and pursue a master’s in early childhood education.
