AmeriCorps Conducts Supervisors Orientation

Orientation sessions for community agency personnel who will supervise members of MCC’s AmeriCorps program were held July 15 at the Damon City Campus. Those attending received program handbooks and a preview of incoming AmeriCorps members’ backgrounds and qualifications. In September, members will be placed in 20 local organizations to perform eleven months of full time service. A significant number of new sites were added for the coming year, including MCC STEP, the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence, Partners in Restorative Initiatives, the Rochester Housing Authority, and Rochester Surround Care Community Corporation (formerly the Rochester Children’s Zone).
