Flu Season is here!  It has been reported that Influenza is widespread in New York State.  Symptoms include high fever, body aches and cough.  If you have not received the Influenza Vaccine yet for this flu season (fall 2012 – spring 2013), there is Influenza vaccine available at MCC Health Services.  The Influenza vaccine is being offered to students, staff and faculty free of charge.  Please call Health Services at 585-292-2018 to schedule an appointment to receive the vaccination.  Get a Flu shot to help prevent the spread of the Flu at MCC! 

If you have received the Influenza vaccination ….Thank you!  The next best way to prevent the spread of the Flu virus is frequent hand washing with soap and water or hand sanitizer.  Hand washing should take 20-30 seconds with soap and water, (sing “Happy Birthday to You” two times while scrubbing).  If using hand sanitizer, place small amount on hands and rub hands together making sure skin surface is covered with hand sanitizer until hands are dry.

“Maintain Don’t Gain” participants don’t forget your last weigh in is in two weeks, 1/22/2013– 1/25/2013.  If you did not sign up for “Maintain Don’t Gain” but are interested in maintaining, losing weight, better nutrition, BMI, healthy weight information.  Health Services has information and websites that may interest you.
