MCC Employees: Annual Human Resources Training Reminder - Deadline is November 15

Annual Employee Training Requirements

Monroe Community College values Community, Inclusiveness, Integrity, Excellence, Empowerment, and Stewardship.  As a college community, it is our collective responsibility to create and maintain a respectful and inclusive workplace culture, and to treat one another in a manner that reflects our shared MCC values.

The three (3) trainings listed below must be completed at time of hire and once per year thereafter.  The materials are prepared pursuant to New York State law, SUNY policy, and MCC policy.  

It is the expectation of the College that all employees will fulfill their annual training requirements prior to the annual deadline.  This year's deadline is November 15, 2022.

  1. Sexual Harassment Response and Prevention
  2. Workplace Violence Response and Prevention
  3. Keeping Children Safe on Campus

Employees may fulfill annual training requirements either by completing the training online via Brightspace or by attending a live Zoom training (see dates below).

Completing Your Annual Training Requirement On Your Own (via Brightspace)

  1. Login to the new portal at https://mymcc.monroecc.edu and make sure you are authenticated (in other words, you will need to use your own username and password).
  2. Click on the Brightspace tile in the portal. 
  3. Locate the “My Courses” area in the center of your screen. Locate the three training courses listed in “All” OR click on the “Professional Development” term.
  4. Click on the corresponding image tile for each of the three (3) required courses.
  5. When you enter each course, click on “Training Content” to get started.
  6. Work through each course’s modules in order and complete the short assessments. You may check your assessment scores in the “Grades” tab. 
  7. Completion is tracked via Brightspace.  You will not receive a certificate of completion.
  8. If you are having trouble accessing or using Brightspace, please contact the SUNY Online Help Desk at 1-844-673-6786.

Completing Your Annual Training Requirement Via Live Zoom Session

Mark your calendar for one (1) of the three (3) dates below.  Each session will cover all three (3) required training topics, so you only need to attend one (1) session.  Live Zoom training sessions are approximately 50-60 minutes.  Zoom information will be shared via the Trib closer to the training date(s). 

  • Thursday, October 27
  • Tuesday, November 1
  • Wednesday, November 9
