Flynn Honored by Rochester Tooling and Machining Association

The Rochester Tooling & Machining Association (RTMA) has presented Monroe Community College President R. Thomas Flynn with its Public Service Award.

The award recognizes Flynn's support and contributions to the organization and the metalworking industry. According to Douglas Seward, RTMA executive director, Flynn has been an avid supporter first as an MCC vice president and now as the college's president.

"Tom understands small business and realizes that we must focus on our core business and depend on outside resources, namely MCC, for our training expertise," said Seward. "Tom has insured that our industry's vocational education program has continued to function with the same hands-on standards we have always pursued."

MCC has partnered with RTMA since 1995 to provide training and education in precision tooling and machining. RTMA member companies provide guidance on curriculum, equipment and hands-on experience. MCC provides the education at its Applied Technologies Center on West Henrietta Road.
