Printing Services Launches New Online Request for Services Form

In order to improve our service to the college community, ETS Instructional Technologies/Printing Services has launched a new, Web-based request for services form. To access the online forms go to the MCC home page (https://www.monroecc.edu/) click on “Employees” use the drop down box, click “Technical Services” and then click “Print Shop Requests.”

The form is Web-based and can be accessed anywhere from the Internet. This service is particularly convenient for users at satellite campus locations and even for access at home. This online form provides groups such as adjunct faculty with an easier way of submitting their requests. The service is available 24/7.

As in the past, there are two forms available, 1) the standard request form, for all copying and duplicating requests as well as a 2) business card request form. The standard form looks the same as the traditional hard copy request from and can be completed online in much the same fashion. All information should be completed on the form (i.e., dept name, user name, number of copies, stock, collate, staple, etc.)

The unique feature of this new form is that you can now attach the file containing the information that you need duplicated. This new feature will allow us to obtain your information faster and in a more secure manner. In most cases these requests are sent digitally to the copiers directly from the files, therefore, saving time and resources. Another benefit is that the copies that are produced will have higher resolution, because they do not have to be rescanned. This will be particularly noticeable in files containing graphics or photos.

To attach files to the form go the box that says “Attach Files” then follow the simple instructions. Acceptable file formats that can be accepted are PDF, post script and any Microsoft Office file. (For other file formats, please check with Printing Services.)

It should be noted that most files can be easily attached, however, for large files over 2 mb you will be directed to place them on the M-Drive for retrieval.

The business card request form can also be completed online; simply fill out the boxes that are not already completed. The user also has an option to select an e-mail proof that can be approved digitally for a faster turnaround.

For more information please contact Printing Services at extension 2520.
