Staged Readings of Paula Vogel's Baltimore Waltz

In preparation for Pulitzer-Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel's visit to MCC, The Sixth Act will be presenting a staged reading of THE BALTIMORE WALTZ, Vogel's 1992 play that explores some of the social, psychological, and physical complexities surrounding HIV/AIDS.  The Brighton reading will be at 4pm in the Black Box on Thursday, February 9th, and the DCC reading will be at 4pm in the DCC Community Room (4193) on Tuesday, February 14th.  If anyone is interested in reading the script of this play ahead of time, please contact me, Thomas Blake <mailto:tblake@monroecc.edu>, Professor Jeffery Jones <mailto:jjones@monroecc.edu>, or Dr. Maria Brandt <mailto:mbrandt@monroecc.edu>.  We welcome any faculty, students, or visitors who are interested in coming.  Furthermore, we encourage faculty members to integrate this event into the syllabi of any courses that address material relevant to this topic.  Formed in 2004, The Sixth Act aims to broaden and deepen an interdisciplinary appreciation of drama at MCC and to connect MCC faculty, staff, and students with events in Rochester’s theatre community. It seeks as its leaders faculty, staff, and students drawn from a variety of academic disciplines and departments.
