2010 Labor Day Parade

Please plan to join the MCC Faculty Association (NYSUT/AFT Local 2842) for the annual Labor Day Parade on Monday, September 6th!  The theme for this year’s parade is, ” Walk With The Workers Who Make Rochester Run.”

Last year,40 unions participated with over 3,000 members in attendance, in addition to community groups, bands, and a large crowd on hand to celebrate the holiday. The Faculty Association has now marched in the Labor Day Parade since 1986, when the parade was revived after 64 years.

We'll meet at 10 a.m. on Strathallan Park (between University and East Avenue, opposite the Memorial Art Gallery) to assemble for the march. Refreshments will be served, and you’ll receive a shirt to commemorate the occasion. We'll march at 11 a.m. and finish by noon!

Free parking is available at the Memorial Art Gallery (Strathallan and University).  If you wish to park close to where the parade ends, Sister Cities Parking Garage (West Main and Plymouth) is also available free of charge.

We hope you'll be able to join us.
