Dr. Kress Selected to Lead Northern Virginia Community College

Dr. Anne M. Kress has accepted the opportunity to become Northern Virginia Community College's next president (release). Please find below statements from MCC Board of Trustees Chairperson Dr. Barbara P. Lovenheim and Dr. Kress.

"The Board congratulates Dr. Kress on her new appointment and thanks her for a decade of exemplary service to MCC. Our College and community have benefited greatly from her leadership. Dr. Kress's dedication to our mission and our students is among the reasons MCC is one of the nation's top community colleges. Now, as she begins the process of transitioning to her new role at Northern Virginia Community College, which begins January 6, the Board is committed to guaranteeing a smooth leadership transition at our College. The Trustees will first work with SUNY to identify an interim leader who can assure MCC's tradition of excellence and student success continues. The Board will then take the time necessary to work with our College community in developing a robust, inclusive, and open search process to recruit and select our next president. As Board Chair, I will keep the MCC community informed and engaged throughout this important process, so please look for regular updates in the Daily Tribune. If you have any questions, please forward them to Linda Hall, Secretary to the Board of Trustees."
-- Barbara P. Lovenheim, Ph.D., Chair, Monroe Community College Board of Trustees and professor emerita, MCC (retired)

"I am incredibly grateful to MCC and to the Board of Trustees for the remarkable opportunity I have had to lead this inspiring College. MCC's success has always been a shared one: it begins with our amazing students, then is nurtured by our talented faculty and staff, fostered by our outstanding administrators, stewarded by dedicated trustees, and supported by a generous community. I have loved every minute of my decade at MCC and been so very proud to represent our College every day. In the weeks ahead, I am committed to assisting with MCC's leadership transition so that the work that you do on behalf of our College continues to be supported and strengthened. Again, thank you for the past ten years and for your commitment to MCC's vision, mission, and values."
