Mentors in Violence Prevention at MCC's Spring 2016 Train the Trainers

Mentors in Violence Prevention at MCC (MVP-MCC) is hosting our 11th Train the Trainers certification program for spring 2016 on Wednesday, March 16th – Friday, March 18th.   MCC is one of just three schools in the world and the only community college to offer this three-day multi-cultural leadership training in which participants learn bystander intervention techniques with which to intervene when faced with potential violence, bullying, harassment, etc.  MVP exceeds Title IX standards for sexual assault prevention and is the leading international violence prevention curriculum.  It is integrated into the U.S. military, as well as many professional, college and high school athletic programs, law enforcement trainings and more.

In addition to this Training, MVP-MCC is also infused into academic curriculum and extra-curricular programming on both campuses.  We also have a competitive MVP in ACTION Scholarship.  To learn more, please see attachments.

The Training will begin each day at 8:45am in Room 4193 on our Damon City Campus, with breakfast provided and will run until about 5:00pm daily. Joe Sturnick, Law & Criminal Justice and myself will serve as lead facilitators.  It is FREE to all MCC students, faculty and staff, and you do not need to complete a registration form.  To get on our list, please contact me at "mailto:cplumeri@monroecc.edu".

Participants from outside groups and agencies will be pay a fee and must submit a registration form for each participant.  The registration form is attached.

Please consider joining us and/or sharing this information with your colleagues, students and friends!
