Free April 23 Webinar Sponsored by the American Association of Community Colleges

Register now for the following free webinar: Engaging Diverse Students in a Swift Transition to Online Teaching and Learning offered by the American Association of Community Colleges.

The COVID-19 pandemic prompted community colleges across the nation to rapidly shift most of their on-ground courses to an online format. This adjustment impacted course access, technology resources, quality of instruction, student's concept and knowledge retention, as well as social relations. These categories lead to unimaginable stressors, particularly for marginalized students, thus leading to academic stoppages and/or dropouts. AACC's Director of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity, Dr. Kevin Christian, talks with Dr. Melva Black, Interim Dean of Humanities and Assistant Professor of Communications at Volunteer State Community College (TN), and one of her male students of color about the ways VSCC engaged students in adapting to the emergency online format.
