Welcome to the Fall 2020 Semester

While this fall undoubtedly will be a semester like no other, MCC is excited to welcome our diverse community of students today and be part of their life-transforming journey, whether they are on campus or studying from afar.

Prepare to be inspired by your colleagues and especially by your students -- their "can-do" attitude, commitment to scholarship, and belief in the power of a college education to open doors of opportunity. We remain focused as ever on preparing our students for their next steps in life -- whether their dream is to transfer, directly enter the workforce, or advance their careers. Our students and community deserve nothing less.

Thank you for staying safe while educating and serving our students and for your resilience as, together, we overcome the challenges of the pandemic and move MCC and our community forward. Below are a few reminders as we begin the semester.

  • MCC's reopening is guided by three fundamental principles: 1) the health, safety and well-being of students and employees; 2) the college's core teaching and learning mission; and 3) responsiveness to changing conditions and community needs and expectations.
  • Our operating principles are available online.
  • We continue to work in close partnership with the Monroe County Department of Public Health to ensure your health and safety.
  • MCC requires students and employees to complete a daily COVID-19 self-assessment, scan an MCC identification, and wear a mask prior to entering campus buildings.
  • Campus population density is dramatically reduced.
  • The vast majority of students are taking courses remotely or online this fall. Approximately 25 percent of courses--those with lab and hands-on learning components--will be delivered in-person.
  • The fall 2020 academic calendar remains unchanged, starting today through December 16.

Stay connected by reading the MCC Daily Tribune and referring to our online Return to Campus Guide for ongoing updates. Encourage your students to do the same. Questions sent to covid19response@monroecc.edu will be answered promptly.

We all play an important role in keeping our campus community healthy and safe. We will continuously adapt as new information about COVID-19 becomes available and in accordance with state and county guidelines. Thank you for doing your part.
