News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting


The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the Board Room, Spina Administration Building on the Brighton Campus on Monday, February 3 and took the following actions:

1.      Accepted the interim financial reports as of November 30 and December 31.

2.      Authorized the purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the months of November and December, 2013.

3.      Affirmed that .92 acres of college property at 1285 East Henrietta Road (also known as 2420 Brighton-Henrietta Townline Road) is no longer needed for college purposes and approved the sale of the property to B&R Realty, LLC, subject to the approval of the Monroe County Legislature and the State University of New York Board of Trustees.

4.      Approved the appointment of David Lane as interim assistant vice president, Educational Technology Services, effective February 3, 2014.

5.      Approved a resolution expressing appreciation to Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden for their recent visit and designating them official MCC Tribunes. See attached resolution.

6.      Approved a resolution expressing the Board’s “recognition, respect and gratitude” to the many members of the College’s Vice Presidential Visit Team. See attached.

The Board also heard presentations from President Kress on progress on Strategic Plan, Direction One and ROC the Future; and from MCC Foundation Chair Dan Burns on recent Foundation initiatives.
