A Fan of COIL? Consider an Online Collaboration with SUNY Geneseo.

SOUL (Shared Online Undergraduate Learning) is a collaborative online teaching experience in which faculty from MCC and Geneseo work together to develop modules that enable MCC students and Geneseo students to collaborate on assignments using online communication tools. While a platform like COIL creates a virtual community in which MCC students can learn alongside students from another country, SOUL provides a digital space in which MCC students work with students from Geneseo. This project presents opportunities for students and faculty to expand their knowledge of online technological tools and opens faculty/student dialogues across SUNY campuses. The project will familiarize our faculty/students with Geneseo faculty/students and will help further prepare MCC students for the demands of SUNY upper division courses.

The SUNY SOUL faculty participants will be compensated for training and can expect ongoing support when creating online team-teaching modules.

If you are interested in learning more, please attend a brown bag lunch from 12-1 on Friday, March 1 in 3: 116.

If you have any questions, please contact Marisol Galarza-Ruiz (mruiz@monroecc.edu).
