Dates for TCC's book group about Ijeoma Oluo's So You Want to Talk About Race?

Good news! We have fall dates for our TCC book discussion of Ijeoma Oluo's So You Want to Talk About Race? We will meet (via Zoom):

  • Monday, October 12th, 12 pm - 1 pm
  • Monday. November 9th, 12 pm - 1pm
  • Monday, December 7th, 12 pm - 1pm

Zoom links for discussions will be emailed to individual participants.

All 20 complimentary books have been claimed, but you are still welcomed to join! If you have not already reached out to Amy, Brian, or April, expressing interest in joining the group, please do so soon.

Our library has kindly ordered 10 copies that will be available for checkout. If you decide to order your own copy, please consider purchasing from a Black-owned bookstore, such as through this portal.

We will explore the introduction and Ch. 1 during the first meeting. For convenience, as we await arrival of the books, both are available to read in Google Books.

We want to hear from you! If you have not already, please let us know what you hope to get out of the book and out of the group discussion. Email Brian Edelbach or April Daniels with your suggestions and questions.

P.S. Whenever the books are delivered, Amy will notify everyone who signed up for a complimentary copy, and she will let you know the process for picking up your copy from the Brighton Campus. It's probably best to begin reading the digital version now, since there's no guarantee that they will be here before the 12th.
