The Global Education & International Services Office and the Teaching & Creativity Center are pleased to announce its Spring 2015 Faculty Reading Study Group: Global Learning in the Classroom.
Join our colleagues, Don Beech and Amanda Colosimo, to explore a range of themes related to developing global awareness and intercultural competence in the classroom. Using a selection of articles, essays, and book chapters, the group will discuss topics such as:
-- Why won’t my “international” students approach me for the help they clearly need?
-- How can I encourage them to contribute more to classroom discussions?
-- How can I infuse a more global perspective in my course?
-- Why is this important for my students and myself?
Please see the attached flyer for specific topics and meeting dates. This program is open to both adjunct and full-time faculty.
If you’re interested in being part of this exciting program, please email Don Beech (<"mailto:dbeech@monroecc.edu">).
