John Delate Awarded Ph.D. in American History

John Delate, Associate Vice President, Student Services, was awarded a Ph.D. in American History from Clark University on August 31. John’s dissertation is entitled “A Tale of Two Americas: The Grit, the Times, and the War in Vietnam from 1963 to 1968.” His research included the first scholarly review of the Grit newspaper, a country weekly paper that was purchased by 1.5 million small-town U.S. residents in 1965 and read by nearly 7 million from those rural areas.

John previously earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Social Sciences (Mansfield University), a Master’s in Education (Mansfield University), and a Master’s in History (Clark University).

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Delate.
