MCC Hosts New York Association of DECA Competition


On Jan. 9, over 700 high schools students, representing 12 school districts, participated in a regional DECA competition at MCC’s Brighton Campus. It was the 12th time MCC hosted the competition. Associate Professor John Striebich, Business Administration/Economics, serves as the primary liaison to DECA and has helped the competition grow from 175 participating students to over 700 students during the past six years.

New York DECA is a student organization whose program of leadership and personal development is designed specifically for students interested in marketing, management and entrepreneurship. DECA chapters operate in over 4,500 high schools and 200 colleges across the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam and Canada. With over 185,000 members, DECA has a significant impact on today's youth.
