Students time is running out
BE A PART of MODEL UN
Students don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of great program that can change your life. Faculty please encourage your students to apply. Students if you have an interest in the world, like working with other cultures or had a desire to become a change agent for peace and justice, then you want to be part of this program.
Model United Nations (informally abbreviated as Model UN or MUN) at MCC, is a perfect example of collaboration across disciplines. Model UN is an academic and co-curricular simulation of the "https://www.un.org/" United Nations whose goal is to educate participants about civics, effective communication, globalization and multilateral diplomacy. In Model United Nations, students take on roles as foreign diplomats and participate in a simulated session of an intergovernmental organization (IGO). Participants research a country, take on roles as diplomats, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world problems.
Students, you will get the opportunity to:
· Interact with over 5,000 students from all over the world, learning to appreciate how different cultures work together
· Travel to New York City for one week to participate in the largest conference in the Northeast (all expenses paid for)
· Participate in an honors course earning 4 credit hours and you don’t have to be an honors student
· Learn valuable leadership skills and understand global perspectives on issues
Don’t waste any more time, get yourself to one of the remaining informational sessions listed below. Check us out on the web at "https://www.monroecc.edu/go/modelun" or pick up one of our brochures in the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development (building 3-126).
