Scholars' Day Application Deadline

Today (25 FEB) is the deadline for submissions for Scholars' Day. The application process is entirely online and, for those stressed by last-minute pressures, for procrastinators of all sorts, or just for those who like direct links and were planning on getting it in at the last minute anyway, the form can be accessed from the "Apply Now" page on the Scholars' Day web site (https://web.monroecc.edu/scholarsday/apply ).

Because we are just coming back from break, and some people may have forgotten to calculate the break week into their plans, we will leave the application form online and active for another 10 days (until 07 MAR). At that time it will be deactivated. However, this is not a license to further procrastinate. We will consider late applications separately. If you do submit after today's official deadline, please additionally send an E-mail to me (Michael Ofsowitz, HYPERLINK "mailto:mofsowitz@monroecc.edu"mofsowitz@monroecc.edu ) alerting me to the submission.

If you have any questions about the application process, feel free to E-mail me.

All applicants (at least primary authors or faculty sponsors) will be notified in early March of receipt of applications, and soon after that about our decisions. All authors selected for presentations will have an opportunity to edit their abstracts prior to the publication of our program, and members of the Scholars' Day committee will work with authors to that end.

One last note of interest for authors: we anticipate producing an online publication of the best full papers associated with Scholars' Day presentations, and we will ask for submissions in late April, probably after the event itself. The selection and publication of Scholars' Day papers will have no influence on the scholarship award process during Scholars' Day; in other words, scholarship awards do not depend on fully written papers.

On behalf of the committee, we look forward to reading all of your submissions, and we offer a hearty thank you to those who have already submitted. And for the rest of the college community, please plan on joining us and our student and faculty presenters for Scholars' Day on April 24 (Wednesday) at DCC, and April 27 (Saturday) at Brighton (https://web.monroecc.edu/scholarsday/ ).
