AmeriCorps Helps to Prepare Students for College

One of the goals of Rochester AmeriCorps is to increase the preparation for and access to post-secondary education for Rochester youth. Several financial aid events that Rochester AmeriCorps members are involved with are open to local students and full of resources for the college bound.

Rochester College Access Network (RCAN), a program of Rochester Education Foundation, is hosting FAFSA Fest 2015, a series of events where students interested in attending college can receive help filing their FAFSA. REF is a host site for Rochester AmeriCorps members who have helped create and promote the college access network. Find more information about RCAN events and other college materials at the Rochester College Access Network site

Rochester AmeriCorps members are also volunteering with College Goal NY which is hosting College Goal Sunday, a FAFSA event at East High school on February 8th to help students and their families complete financial aid forms. Visit
