Annual McMurry Lecture in Philosophy


The Twenty-Fourth Annual McMurray Lecture in Philosophy will be held on Friday, March 12, at noon in Room 8-300.  This year's speaker will be Professor Emeritus J. Derek Harrison.  His lecture is entitled "Philosophy on the Street."

Derek Harrison completed his Ph.D. at the State University of New York at Buffalo and has taught at MCC for 36 years.  The author of The American Dream:  Vision and Reality, Ethics at Work, and Social Responsibility:  Issues and Ideas,  Dr. Harrison has written articles on a variety of topics within the fields of general education, philosophy and social responsibility.

Professor Harrison enjoys traveling to Munich, Calcutta, Hong Kong, Haiti, and Central and South America where he oversees many service projects.
