MCC Hosts CompeerCORPS Event Honoring Women Veterans
On Saturday, March 30, CompeerCORPS held an photo exhibition at MCC's Brighton Campus that featured black and white photos, biographies, and dog tags of 30 female veterans from World War I and World War II. Although the US Army refused to enlist women officially during the First World War, their participation as contract employees and civilian volunteers set an important precedent. Three hundred and fifty thousand women served in the military during World War II.
