Looking for your next good summer read? Search no more! Every year, MCC selects a book for students, faculty, and staff to read that explores current issues important to the global community. Join that exploration this summer and read a book that will enable you to have meaningful conversations with your colleagues and students throughout the year. The Common Read experience works to provide a catalyst for community conversation, connects students to their peers and faculty, and importantly, establishes a culture of reading among our students. You are invited to join in this common intellectual activity!
The Common Read committee is hosting a book lottery to provide a select number of MCC faculty with copies of
Spare Parts: Four Undocumented Teenagers, One Ugly Robot, and the Battle for the American Dream, by Joshua Davis. Email <
mailto:commonread@monroecc.edu> to request a copy. If you would like to incorporate some or all of the book into your curriculum, please feel free to contact the Common Read committee to collaborate on ideas. Happy reading!
