EDIWS Programs Showcase Hands on Training for over 700 High School Students


 Programs in EDIWS participated Thursday, 10/6 at Finger Lakes Works With Their Hands! The event had over 700 students from 31 high schools. The purpose of the event is to expose students to skilled trades and advanced manufacturing. Construction Technology, Precision Machining, Heating Ventilation Air-Conditioning, Solar Thermal Technology and new course work in Pneumatics were on hand for students to partake in.

The demonstrations included soldering copper pipe, utilizing measurement skills with metrology equipment, pneumatic drive system operation and surveying on site done by instructor Holly Holevinski. Students Andrew Hess, Mike Fallon and Jeremy Braund (Facilities) in HVAC assisted in the soldering practical while Kolby Gross and Shannon Phillips assisted Bob Lasch at the FAME building with the metrology expo.
