A campus-wide event of music and poetry is planned on April 17, 2013 in the Music Ensemble Room (Building 12 Room 126) from 3:30 pm- 6:00 pm. The performance will feature the poets reading their works and sharing their inspiration, as well as choral and instrumental settings of their poems with the composers.
A bit of history: last September David Schuh, a music major, requested from the College Arts Committee poetry written by students to compose music to. Pat Kennedy and Jean McDonough of Academic Support Services and the Writing Center learned of David’s project and suggested that a campus-wide event of music and poetry might be an event that students would enjoy.
