In accordance with the Fire Code of New York State, Monroe Community College must conduct unannounced fire drills each year.
The purpose of the drills is to educate the college community on the proper method of exiting college buildings should an emergency arise. Fire drills are not announced in advance; please take the opportunity now to discuss fire alarm procedures with others in your office and classroom.
Please remember that it takes a group effort to make a quick and safe evacuation of a building. Once everyone is out of the room, close all windows and doors. Shut off the lights, leave the building and get away from the buildings and clear the courtyards.
For further information please refer to the following MCC Web site PowerPoint.

During an emergency or evacuation process, Emergency Assembly Areas provide an area of temporary refuge for people with physical disabilities. These areas are generally located near or at a stairwell. A blue sign inscribed with white lettering, “Emergency Assembly Area,” or “Area of Refuge” identifies each area.
