Spring TRS 100/COS 133 Learning Community

The ESL/TRS Department is offering a TRS 100/COS 133 learning community in the spring.

Students who place into TRS 100 are required to take COS, so this is a great opportunity for any TRS 100 student, but it is an especially good option for students who register shortly before the semester begins. Both late-registering students and TRS 100 students face unique challenges in college, and we hope that this learning community can help them to overcome some of those obstacles. The cohort effect - the supportive relationships that the students develop, and the accountability they feel toward one another - can greatly improve students' persistence and chances of success.

Thus, if you find yourself interacting with a TRS 100 student at any point before the start of the spring semester, please let them know about this learning community. Both classes are being taught by Professor Jessica Strollo, who is one of our strongest and most student-centered instructors.

COS 133-BL1 (33277) MWF 11-11:50 (1/22-5/20)

TRS 100-BL1 (33278) MWF 1-2:50 (1/22-5/20)

The College Hour between the two classes will be used to engage students in college events and activities, and to further build community.

Thank you for your consideration and support. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Matt Fox at 292-3138, mfox@monroecc.edu, or email Jessica Strollo at jstrollo@monroecc.edu.
