Homecoming & Alumni Weekend 2006

Building traditions is an important part of creating a vibrant college community. MCC’s Homecoming & Alumni Weekend is our opportunity to reconnect with alumni, celebrate our athletic winning tradition, and build connections between alumni, students and the college.

I look forward to seeing you at MCC’s Homecoming & Alumni Weekend 2006, October 6 and 7, on the Brighton Campus. As you review the attached events itinerary, please take note of the Monagan Court Dedication that will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7 at noon in the Stabins Physical Education Complex (Bldg. 10) gymnasium. As our first athletic director, George left an indelible mark on MCC through his leadership and dedication to student success. Members of George’s family and some of his many friends will be present for this tribute. A strong showing from the college’s faculty, staff and students would demonstrate our gratitude for all George accomplished for students, public higher education in our community and the field of health and physical education during his lifetime. Cheering on the MCC Tribunes as they compete on John L. DiMarco field and Monagan Court in the afternoon is also a fitting way to honor George’s memory and the exceptional athletic program he started—currently ranked #1 in the nation.

My thanks to the Monroe Community College Foundation and the college-wide planning committee, led by Mark Pastorella, director of alumni, annual and planned giving, for planning the weekend.

I hope to see you there.
