Judicial Independence in a Digital Age: A Campus Talk With the Hon. Richard C. Wesley

The Democracy Commitment at MCC is happy to announce an upcoming visit from the Hon. Richard C. Wesley, Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, for a campus talk. Judge Wesley will visit campus on October 11th, from 1230-145pm, in Monroe B in the Warshof Conference Center. Judge Wesley's talk, titled Judicial Independence in a Digital Age, will examine the impact of digital technologies on the judicial process.

Judge Wesley, a native of Western New York, was nominated to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in March of 2003, and unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate in June of 2003. Judge Wesley has a history of service to Western New York, including representing Livingston, Allegany, and Ontario Counties in the State Assembly from 1982-1986, before being elected to a 14 year term as a Justice of the New York Supreme Court from the Seventh Judicial District. In addition to currently serving on the United States Court of Appeals, Judge Wesley is also a member of the Cornell Law School faculty.

Please plan to attend this exciting and informative talk on judicial politics. Please email Joe Scanlon (jscanlon1@monroecc.edu) or Louis Andolino (landolino@monroecc.edu) if you have further questions.
