GeoFest 2014 - Celebrating Geography at MCC

The New York Geographic Alliance and the Department of Chemistry/Geosciences invite all students and faculty of Monroe Community College to join us in a celebration of geography on October 18, 2014.

The morning session will feature a continental breakfast followed by three workshop sessions. There will be many choices, ranging from using our new water-testing kits to look at water quality, geography and literature, an update about social studies from NYS Dept. of Education, lessons from our Erie Canal Module and the new Atlas of New York: Legacies of the Erie Canal, Remote Sensing by Pictometry, and “Rockets to the Rescue” from Cornell Cooperative (4H). This is a partial list. We will most likely have other options.

After the workshops, a small group of participants will board a bus to the Susan B. Anthony House for a special guided tour.

There is no cost to MCC people for the morning sessions, but we are asking for $15 for the afternoon tour. If you are interested in attending call Tim McDonnell at x2398 or email him at
mailto:tmcdonnell@monroecc.edu.

We hope you will be joining us!
